Gerard and I are starting to look at what we want to achieve with SkyChasers as a collectible card game, and my two main reference points are the Alien vs. Predator game, and Magic. AvP had a fantastic chase element that made the game incredibly fun, and it dealt with geography in some really neat ways - SkyChasers needs that, for certain. Magic was always just simple and exciting when it came to combat.

Gerard has mentioned wanting to check out the Star Wars game, and I'm thinking we'd be fools not to get to know Pokemon and YU GI OH just a little... is there anything else you recommend?

While this is our first CCG, I'm feeling pretty manly after having mastered the SkyChasers tabletop system. What's more, Gerard has a great head for strategy. We should be able to cook up something super fun, and the challenge is starting to really excite me.

Any favorites we should check out, for a good sense of what works?

Just as a follow up note, I'm happy to report that development on the SkyChasers TCG is now fully underway! Magic the Gathering as proven a big influence, as has the AvP TCG, Munchkin, and StarCraft. We're having a lot of fun with it, and the project as a whole is taking on a very exciting life of it's own. More to come!
