Yeah, but Humans are also not stupid. They wouldn't even bother getting involved with the Rexsaurs or the Loom unless they knew the big guys couldn't just eat them.

Perhaps the new faction kicks the crap outta the Loom and the Rexsaurs and then these new bad guys go to the Humans to help them win the war. The Humans work with them for awhile but then they find out just how bad the new faction is so they bolt and find themselves forced to align themselves with the Loom and Rexsaurs. Normally the Humans would get NO sympathy from the other two original warring factions, but because they have intricate and detailed knowledge of the enemy's tactics as well as their strengths and weaknesses, Humans are a valuable resource now, not just food.

Also, Skychasers are effective against their enemies because they're small. Perhaps that same advantage gives them an edge against the new bad guys that the Rexsaurs and Loom just don't have. The big guys handle the major aspects of combat while Skychasers are the black ops agents and saboteurs of the new conflict.

Man, this could make a super-epic series of fan fiction books...

Of course, every good kids show needs a team-up eventually. Usually, it's because of drugs. Rexors may be EVIL, but they're not THAT evil!
