The very first thing any SkyChaser learns is the code, which was first written by Pick and Rookie, back in the year 1187. It’s not hard to learn.

The Rule of Odds
No matter what, a SkyChaser never gives up. Hope is the most important tool a SkyChaser has. Sometimes things seem so impossible that the only reasonable thing to do is to walk away from the problem. There is a way, and a SkyChaser knows that. If the SkyChasers won’t find it, who will?

The Rule of One
Each human life is worthy of saving, protecting, and preserving, and that’s the most important job a SkyChaser has. If even one human being is in danger, it’s your job to help them by any means necessary.

The Rule of Many
Two lives are worth more than one. Sometimes, SkyChasers have to make tough decisions, and when they do, they always save the most people they can. Our survival is in numbers. More than anything, the human race needs people growing up and having children so we can continue to spread out into the stars. Always make the choice that saves as many lives as possible.

The Rule of Action
When something needs to be done, a SkyChaser always does it. No matter the danger, a SkyChaser will always help people in need. SkyChasers always takes action.

The Rule of Knowing
When a SkyChaser has a question, they always take time to learn the answer. Our survival depends on what we know about big things like alien technology and new worlds, and the success of a SkyChaser’s mission can hinge on the smallest piece of information. Taking the time to know is always worthwhile.

The Rule of Stars
When nobody is in immediate danger, a SkyChaser will sneak aboard a spaceship headed for the unknown, and explore. Finding new worlds and new ways to get around is the only way our species can survive. Otherwise, we’ll run out of places to hide, sooner or later. SkyChasers are called SkyChasers for a reason! There’s no such thing as a vacation. SkyChasers live for adventure.

The Rule of Patience
A SkyChaser will risk everything for others, but under no circumstances will a SkyChaser throw his or her life away. Suicide missions don’t help anyone. Always, SkyChasers take time to figure things out, using surprise, good planning, and whatever else they have to turn the tables. No matter what, SkyChasers always give themselves the best possible chance of success. SkyChasers are always smart, as well as brave.

The Rule of Others
Often, SkyChasers make decisions that rule the fate of whole colonies. Other people, grown-ups and children, will trust a SkyChaser with their lives. It’s very important that a SkyChasers always act in service to others. Never, never, never will a SkyChaser use their power or knowledge for selfish gain. Secret codenames and saying goodbye to family are all part of this rule. SkyChasers live to help others, and is surrounded by other SkyChasers ready to help and support them, but for normal people, the life of a SkyChaser is too much to handle. Someday, if they live long enough, a SkyChaser turns eighteen and gets to go home. Until that day, a SkyChaser belongs to all humanity, and to the stars.
