When a 600 year old man comes to Boston for the illuminated manuscript that could reveal his existence to the world, what he finds instead is an unlikely friendship... and a reason to live.

SYNOPSIS
To taxi driver MAX DESTEFANO, the idea that a stranger could walk into a bar and pay for his daughter’s education was beneath ridicule. To SAM BAILEY it was the way things were done, once upon a time...

For reasons even he can’t explain, Sam Bailey does not age and cannot die. In the year 1515, Sam Bailey was put on trial by a tribunal of the Holy Roman Inquisition and locked inside an iron maiden, where he remained for over a century. In the eyes of the Church, the only explanation for Sam’s extended life was diabolism. When Sam Bailey was later shot, poisoned stabbed, drowned, and finally burned as the wandering monk Rasputin, he vowed never again to reveal his secret.

Now, an illuminated manuscript written hundreds of years ago threatens to rekindle the world’s interest in Sam Bailey’s unique condition. Following the ancient tome to Boston, Sam hires the help of a local cabbie to track down the book’s whereabouts, as well the mysterious collector who owns it, MINOR STOCKMAN. Uncovering Minor Stockman’s plan and retreiving the manuscript are the keys to Sam’s eternal privacy, solitude, and safety.

As he slowly pieces together the secret, Max begins to see that solitude and safety are the last things Sam needs... and that the manuscript and Minor Stockman are leading Sam Bailey towards the very thing he fears the most.
