Thanks for following, one and all! What we have here, excepting a few tweaks in rehearsal, is the theater piece we'll be staging in about a month and a half to kickstart the unusual, bastard-child punk multimedia event that is
Heartsgaard.
From the beginning, this has been a creative endeavor that has demanded a unique path to reach you as an audience. Every attempt on our part to shoehorn Heartsgaard into some kind of traditional, digestible model has met with resistance and failure, whereas just letting things take shape seems to result in an easy, fun, sometimes profound experience.
As a result, Sam Bailey seems to be the project that shows the world what we can do with a structured, more traditional approach to media (although even that film involves risks the vast majority of the film industry doesn't quite get what to do with), whereas Heartsgaard is evolving into our chance to play with you, our audience.
Through the process of bringing the story of Heartsgaard to you, we're learning how to make sharing a relationship with you into something easy and fun. In movie boot camp, they teach us that public relations is this big, intense, scary thing. It's not, and we're just about ready to start messing around with you guys.
That's how entertainment should be.
Anyway, enjoy the read. If you're in Los Angeles, you might just want to wait for the show - we'll be posting showdates very, very soon.
With love,
T
